The State Bank of India Probationary Officer (SBI PO) exam is considered one of the most prestigious and highly competitive banking recruitment exams in the country. Because the application process handles massive candidate volumes, the SBI portal employs an automated screening process for online applications. If your SBI PO photo size, signature dimensions, left thumb impression, or handwritten declaration do not adhere to the strictly set guidelines, your upload will simply fail. For your passport-size color photograph, the SBI portal requires exact mapping to 200 pixels in width and 230 pixels in height (200x230 px). The digital file size of the photo must strictly fall between 20 KB and 50 KB. Images that exceed 50 KB or fall below 20 KB will trigger an immediate rejection error. It is mandatory to use a recent photo with a clear, plain white background. Photographs taken with heavy flash glares, "red-eye" effects, or while wearing sunglasses or caps are strictly forbidden by SBI.
Your signature serves as your vital biometric verification. The required SBI PO signature size must be mapped to 800 pixels wide by 300 pixels high (800x300 px). The file size limit for your signature must stay precisely within the 10 KB to 100 KB range.
For bank exams (IBPS, SBI, etc.), the left thumb impression should be a pixel image (3 cm x 3 cm) at 200 DPI. The file must be in JPG/JPEG format, with a file size between 20 KB and 50 KB. It should be taken with black or blue ink on white paper. Ensure the ridges of your thumbprint are clear and not heavily smudged. A blurry thumb impression can create massive hurdles during physical biometric verification at the SBI exam center.
SBI PO applicants are also required to upload a specific handwritten declaration. This must be written entirely in English, by the applicant's own hand, on white paper, using black ink. It must absolutely not be written in capital letters. The file size for this declaration needs to be between 50 KB and 100 KB, with dimensions ideally around 800 pixels in width and 400 pixels in height to ensure readability.
