The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) Probationary Officer exam is a highly competitive banking test. Apart from the standard photograph, signature, and left thumb impression, the IBPS portal requires candidates to submit a "Handwritten Declaration". This unique document verifies that all information provided in your application is truthful and submitted by you personally. Failing to upload this document in the exact format required, or writing the wrong text, will result in immediate rejection of your application.
You must write the following exact text on a plain white sheet of paper. Do not change the wording. Make sure to fill in your name where the blank line indicates:
Note: Always double-check the latest official IBPS PO notification, as exact text requirements can occasionally be updated. However, the above text is the standard format used for IBPS PO examinations.
The IBPS is extremely strict about how this text is written. It must be written entirely in English. You must use a Black Ink Pen to write the declaration. Using blue ink, pencils, or gel pens that smudge can cause the scanner software to flag your upload.
Most importantly, the declaration MUST NOT be written in CAPITAL LETTERS. If you write the entire sentence in uppercase (e.g., "I HEREBY DECLARE THAT..."), your application will be deemed invalid. You must use your natural, running handwriting (sentence case).
Many candidates face upload errors or application rejections due to easily avoidable mistakes. One of the most frequent errors is using ruled or notebook paper. The IBPS specifically mandates unlined, plain white paper. If you use paper with lines, the background check may fail. Another common mistake is overwriting or crossing out words. If you make a spelling mistake, do not use correction fluid (white-out) or scribble over it; simply take a fresh sheet of paper and start over. A clean, pristine document ensures there are no issues during the rigorous Document Verification (DV) phase.
Once you have written the declaration on paper, you must scan it or photograph it clearly. For the IBPS PO portal, the file must be heavily formatted. The dimensions should be approximately 10 cm by 5 cm, which digitally translates to 800 pixels in width and 400 pixels in height (800x400 px). The file format must be strictly JPG or JPEG.
The file size limit is specifically set between 50 KB and 100 KB. This is larger than the signature size allowance because the portal needs the full sentence to remain highly legible. If your file is over 100 KB, the system will reject the upload. Attempting to compress a large mobile phone photo down to 100 KB without making the handwritten text blurry can be challenging, which is why utilizing our dedicated resizing tool is highly recommended.
When taking a picture of your handwritten declaration with your smartphone, ensure you are in a well-lit room with natural sunlight. Stand directly over the paper, taking care not to cast a shadow with your phone or body. Make sure the text is fully in focus and takes up the majority of the frame. Once you have a clear, bright picture, do not try to upload this heavy 2MB or 3MB file directly to the IBPS portal. Instead, upload it directly into our resizing tool below to format it flawlessly.
Manually adjusting pixel dimensions and compressing kilobyte sizes for the handwritten declaration using standard mobile apps is frustrating and often leads to unreadable text. Our specialized IBPS PO tool handles this automatically. Simply select the "Declaration" tab above. The tool calibrates to the exact 800x400 pixel and 50-100 KB limits. You can safely upload a high-resolution photo of your paper (up to 15 MB), and the algorithm will crop, resize, and compress it securely inside your web browser. Similar to formatting your IBPS PO Photo or SSC CGL documents, your files remain 100% private and are never uploaded to our servers.
