Applying for the Agniveervayu intake via the CDAC portal demands a very specific visual composition — the "Slate Photo." Submitting a standard passport photo is the single most common reason candidates face rejection at the initial screening stage. This guide covers every rule so you upload correctly the first time.

Why Most Resizer Tools Get The File Size Wrong

The majority of online resizer tools target a maximum of 50 KB for the Agniveervayu photograph. This is dangerously incorrect. The CDAC portal accepts files anywhere between 100 KB and 200 KB for the photograph. Neutral expression, looking directly into the lens. Spectacles, sunglasses, and tinted glasses are strictly prohibited. Caps and fashion headgear are not allowed (Sikh candidates may wear religious turbans). Do not significantly change your appearance between the photograph date and your physical rally.

Live Image Capture — The Step Most Tutorials Miss

After uploading your photograph, the CDAC registration portal runs a Live Image Capture step where your computer's webcam feeds a real-time image that is geometrically matched against your uploaded photo. If the black slate in your uploaded photo covers any part of your chin, jawline, or lower face, the facial feature extraction algorithm will find insufficient data points and the match will fail — silently, sometimes after full payment. Always position the slate so it covers only the chest area, starting at or below the collarbone.

Sky Blue Background — Non-Negotiable
