Agniveer Airforce Slate Photo Studio

The only tool that targets the actual CDAC accepted range (100–200 KB) — not the dangerously over-compressed <50 KB most tools output. Drag-to-position black slate, Live Image Capture alignment warning, and a dedicated Guardian Signature tab for minor applicants.

⚠️ Live Image Capture warning: The CDAC portal matches your photo against a live webcam feed during enrollment. Keep the slate entirely below the collarbone — covering the chin or jaw area will cause the facial recognition step to fail silently, even after payment.

Complete Guide: Indian Air Force Agniveer (Vayu) Slate Photo & Document Rules

Applying for the Agniveervayu intake via the CDAC portal demands a very specific visual composition — the "Slate Photo." Submitting a standard passport photo is the single most common reason candidates face rejection at the initial screening stage. This guide covers every rule so you upload correctly the first time.

Why Most Resizer Tools Get The File Size Wrong

The majority of online resizer tools target a maximum of 50 KB for the Agniveervayu photograph. This is dangerously incorrect. The CDAC portal accepts files anywhere between 100 KB and 200 KB for the photograph. Compressing to <50 KB causes severe quality degradation at 100×120 pixels — the white chalk text on the black slate becomes illegible at that resolution, which triggers manual verification rejections even after the automated upload succeeds. Our tool specifically targets the 100–200 KB accepted range, preserving text clarity.

The Mandatory Black Slate Chest Rule

The official notification enforces a zero-tolerance policy on photograph format. A portrait photo is absolutely NOT acceptable. You must physically hold a black slate in front of your chest with both hands gripping the outer horizontal edges — both hands must be visible. The slate must clearly display your Full Name (exact spelling from your 10th matriculation certificate) and the Date of Photograph, both written in white chalk using CAPITAL LETTERS only.

Neutral expression, looking directly into the lens. Spectacles, sunglasses, and tinted glasses are strictly prohibited. Caps and fashion headgear are not allowed (Sikh candidates may wear religious turbans). Do not significantly change your appearance between the photograph date and your physical rally.

Live Image Capture — The Step Most Tutorials Miss

After uploading your photograph, the CDAC registration portal runs a Live Image Capture step where your computer's webcam feeds a real-time image that is geometrically matched against your uploaded photo. If the black slate in your uploaded photo covers any part of your chin, jawline, or lower face, the facial feature extraction algorithm will find insufficient data points and the match will fail — silently, sometimes after full payment. Always position the slate so it covers only the chest area, starting at or below the collarbone.

Correct File Size Specifications (CDAC Portal)

These are the actual accepted ranges on the CDAC portal, not the simplified maximums most guides quote:

Sky Blue Background — Non-Negotiable

Unlike SSC, IBPS, or railway exams that use white backgrounds, the Indian Air Force explicitly requires a plain, solid Sky Blue background. Uploading a white background photo will be flagged during the initial application screening. Our tool applies the correct Sky Blue (#87CEEB) automatically when processing photographs.

The Minor Candidate Trap — Guardian Signature

Because the minimum eligibility age is 17.5 years, a significant proportion of applicants are under 18 at the time of form submission. The CDAC portal requires these candidates to upload an additional document: a Parent or Guardian Signature (100×40 px, 80–150 KB JPEG). Most tools only provide three processing tabs — Photo, Signature, Thumb — forcing minor candidates to search for separate tools. Our fourth tab handles guardian signatures with the correct specification.

Signature Rules

The signature must be recorded in black or dark blue ink on a clean, unlined plain white sheet of paper. It must be scanned and resized to exactly 100×40 pixels and compressed to the 80–150 KB range. Critical rule: signatures written entirely in capital block letters are legally unauthentic and will be rejected. Use your natural running handwriting.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about formatting the slate photo, signature, thumbprint, and guardian signature for Agniveervayu.

The CDAC portal accepts photograph files between 100 KB and 200 KB in JPG/JPEG format at 100×120 pixels. Tools targeting a <50 KB ceiling over-compress the file, causing the chalk text on the slate to become unreadable at that resolution.
You must hold a black slate in front of your chest with both hands gripping the outer edges (both hands visible). The slate must display your Full Name (as on 10th certificate) and Date of Photograph in white chalk, written entirely in CAPITAL LETTERS.
The CDAC portal includes a real-time webcam step called Live Image Capture, which geometrically matches your uploaded photo against your live face. If the black slate in the uploaded photo covers the chin or jaw, the facial recognition algorithm extracts insufficient feature points and the match fails — sometimes after full payment. Always keep the slate below the collarbone.
No. The Indian Air Force strictly requires a plain Sky Blue background. White backgrounds (standard for SSC and banking exams) will be flagged during screening. Our tool applies the mandatory Sky Blue (#87CEEB) automatically.
Candidates who are under 18 years of age at the time of submitting the Agniveervayu application form must upload a Parent or Guardian Signature (100×40 px, 80–150 KB JPEG) in addition to their own signature. Use the "Guardian" tab in our tool to resize this document.
The signature must be 100×40 pixels and between 80 KB and 150 KB in JPEG format. Sign in black or dark blue ink on plain white paper. Signatures written entirely in capital block letters will be rejected — use your natural running handwriting.
No. Spectacles, sunglasses, and tinted glasses are strictly prohibited, even prescription ones. Remove them entirely for the photograph.
Completely. The tool uses browser-side HTML5 Canvas APIs only. Your photos, signatures, and personal details are processed entirely on your own device and never transmitted to any external server.
